Introducing the Four Plagues of Politics — and How We Fix Them

Arizonans,

We come from different parties and different parts of the state. Still, we have something powerful in common: a deep love for Arizona and a firm belief that our democracy should work for everyone — not just the loudest or the richest.

That's why we've joined forces as the new Co-Chairs of Democracy Arizona. Together, we’re launching a movement to fight against the forces poisoning our politics. We call them the Four Plagues of Politics:

  1. Special Interest Money

  2. Political Extremism

  3. Big Media Influence

  4. Negative Campaigning

Each has chipped away at trust in government, divided communities, and driven good people out of the civic process. Over the next few months, we’ll use this Substack to break down each of these plagues, share stories from across Arizona, and offer real, bipartisan solutions.

We’re not here to win points for one party. We’re here to win back trust. And we can’t do it without you.

Join us, subscribe, and share. It’s time to restore common sense to Arizona.

In service, Alma & Adam
