Yet that is the current size of U.S. Congressional Districts. Therefore, money, big media and special interests rule. Only the rich and well-connected can afford to run for Congress. Expensive television commercials and big media are the only way to reach enough voters, but we never really have a chance to KNOW the person we are voting for.

DIVIDE ALL CURRENT CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS INTO 100 COMMUNITY DISTRICTS.

7,500-person community districts are human-scale. A candidate can meet most – or even all – of the voters. Look them in the eye, share their story without the need for expensive television, big media, or negative campaigning. And the far extremes of both parties would be neutralized. Good folks can earn the right to represent their communities, even if they don’t have the deepest pockets.

On the current primary date, each Community District nominates for Congress a Democrat and a Republican, just as voters do now.

On the regular general election date, voters choose one of those candidates to represent that Community District for two years.

Then, shortly after the general election, those 100 newly elected Community Representatives gather.

They choose from among the 100 which one will serve as the Representative to the U.S. Congress for the two- year term.
