The Rise of Political Extremism

I ran for office to get things done. But it’s gotten harder every year to do that because too many people in power care more about getting attention than solving problems.

Extremism has taken root in our politics. It shows up in party primaries dominated by the loudest voices, legislation designed to stir outrage instead of improve lives, and how we talk about each other as enemies instead of neighbors.

Most Arizonans are reasonable, practical people. They want good schools, safe neighborhoods, and an economy that works. But extremists have hijacked our dialogue.

At Democracy Arizona, we’re working to restore balance by encouraging candidates willing to work across the aisle and supporting reforms that give the middle a voice.

Arizona deserves better than political theater. We deserve leadership.
